Get Well Wishes

Hello everyone.  I am up on Craftin Desert Divas Blog today.I have a quick and simple card for you today using Floral Wreaths stamp set.

Here is what I made

I always love to color flower images.  After coloring so many cutie images from CDD, I revisited one of my old time favorite that is Floral Wreaths stamp set.

I began by stamping the wreath with peacock feather distress ink onto Canson Mixed Media papaer and then used peerless water colors as my coloring medium.  I love how vibrant they are.  I fussy cut the wreath out and began to stamp randomly the small flowers and leaves images and made my own background pattern.  I stamped with versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  And without fail *lol*, I cut my main panel with Crazy Stitched Frame dies.

I cut the vellum with Flag Banner dies then embossed the sentiment from Wishful Thoughts stamp set on velum with Verdigris embossing power.  I used gray copic marker to color behide the vellum to make the sentiment stand out abit.

I arranged the floral wreath and the sentiment banner onto the embossed background panel and dropped Nuvo Crystal Drop - Morning Dew to accent my card.

I hope you like it and Thank you for stopping by today.

Hugs,
Jan

I do love how whimsical and adorable images from this Monster Carnival stamp set.  It's hard to choose which one is my favorite.  :) So I ended up with this little guy holding one eye monster balloon.
I decided to stamped him as he peeked thru the windows and surprised with big hugs.

This card is totally CAS! and I like how it turned out.

I had this white window frame that was left over from my previous project and it's hard for me to throw it away.... So I decided to used it and it kept the design simple.

I cut the negative window panels from water color paper using Window Pane dies and begain to stamp this cutie monster in different positions with versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I used Zig markers with clear water to color all of them with detail paint brush to pull the color toward inside the images leaving some white for the hi light.

I then put the main window panel onto black card based and got ready to pop all those panels back to the frame but then I felt it's abit plain so I decided to color all the white background in each panel with yellow zig marker and I like it much better.

To finished it off I used Flag Banner dies to cut my sentiment panel from water color papel and also paint it with green marker.. Thru out the project I only used 1 marker of each color.  And to ballance the color I dropped Nuvo Crystal Drop in Caribbean Ocean here and there.  And it's Done!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you're playing along with us.

Hugs,
Jan

Here is what I've created especially for you.

I couldn't help to make one more beautiful mermaid card from Craftin Desert Divas July Release - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set. Isn't she beautiful?  I wanted to do a mermaid sitting on the big oyster shell *lol*  I'll share in a bit my thinking process.  Here are more closed up looks of completed card.

Using color pencils and abit of embellishments always help to make it look prettier :)

It's a one layer card and I colored the images and background with copic markers with the help of some distress oxide inks, color pencils and some embellishments.

Here is how I did my scene

Like I said earlier, I already known that I wanted my mermaid to sit inside the big oyster shell so I left some space for me to draw the shell for her.  After I set up all the scene element, I then used Crazy Stitched Frame dies to cut my main panel.

I then hand drawn the oyster shell (credit to goggle) I am not good in drawing so I took my time to draw it with the light touch of pencil lines.  After I happy with how it looked I then photo copy it onto some thin photocopy paper for fussy cut all of them off and made them into masks

I normally do my background first before coloring my images, just in case I made mistake.  I colored the oceans with copic markers B2X series and B000 at the top.  I then used White Gelly Roll pen to draw those white lines as my ocean under the sea currents.  It didn't look that pretty isn't it :) Just bear with me!

I then put all the masking paper on and began to lightly distress on top of the ocean with distress oxide inks in broken china and cracked pistashio and the white gel pen.  I sometime used white gel pen to draw the lines and purposely smeared them.  Still not pretty but this is because the main images were not colored yet.  I did came back and did more touch up with color pencils and some details afterward.

This is how it looked once everything was colored.  I used some polychromos colored pencils to even out some hard lines at the ocean and used white color pencil from prisma to make some bubbles that will hide some of my imperfection of copic blending underneath.

Here again for the finial look

I finished it off with Nuvo Crystal Drop in Apple Green and Morning Dew.  And quite heavy coated of Wink Of Stella in Clear at the mermaid's hair and sea weeds.  I attached the main panel to black card based and it's done!

I hope you do like my card and Thank you for stopping by today.

Hugs

I coated all 3 of the monkeys in grossy accent and dropped some Nuvo Crystal Drop in Apple Green and called it done!

Craftin Desert Divas Release Day 1

Hello and Welcome!

Finally all Craftin Desert Divas July Release products are avaliable.  I really had so much fun creating all the cards that I've been showcasing for the past 5 days.

Click here for new release products

Here are something new for you and I hope they inspired you somehow :)   I had total of 5 cards for this release but today I'll share 4 cards that are beach or summer theme using Jawsome, Ocean Friends, Sunny Smiles, Mermaid Lagoon and Summer Vibin stamps along with Ocean Border dies and Island dies.

Here they are....
Project # 1 : Jawsome Stamp

I couldn't help to make this Mantra Shark from Jawsome stamp doing some meditation on top of the wave from Ocean Border dies.  I did some masking at the top left for the moon with antique linen distress ink and used the negative mask to make the sky with tumber glass, salty ocean and chipped sapphire distress inks.. I also die cut the wave die from Ocean Border and inked it with Distress Oxide inks in broken china and cracked pistachio.

I colored the mantra shark with copic markers and fussy cut him out.  As always, I used Crazy Stitched Frame dies cut decorative my edges and finished it off by dropping Nuvo Crystal Drop in Buttermilk

Project # 2 :  Ocean Friends and Mermaid Lagoon Stamps

I used both wave and the coral dies from Ocean Border dies to cut from white card stock and colored the coral border piece with copic marker.  I used the negative piece of the wave border dies and distress it with tumber glass distress ink.  I then used Crazy Stitched Frame dies to but both pieces for decorative edges before adhered them both top and bottom onto some acetate sheet that cut to A2 size card front.  In sperated white card stock I distressed the ocean background with Distress Oxide Ink in cracked pistachio, broken china and faded jeans.  I stamped the dolphin from Ocean friends stamp on top of the wave and stamped the mermaid, fish, seahorse and seashel from Mermaid Lagoon stamp on white card stock.  I colored them with copic markers and fussy cut them out.

I mounted the whole panels both background and acetate sheet onto black card based and finished it off by dropping Nuvo Jewel Drop in Key Lime.

Project # 3 : Sunny Smiles Stamp

I played around with the die cut borders and think it's a good idea to make a sand dune from Garden Border dies and tucked in all those cute elements like coral from Ocean Border Dies, Seashell, Starfish and Seahorse from Island Dies.  I colored the adorable zebra and beach umbrella from Sunny Smiles stamp with copic markers.  For the cloud, I used Stitched Scallop dies and the sentiment bannner from Flag Banner dies.  I inked up the cloud with distress oxide ink in worn lipstic.  The sky and sea I used distress oxide inks in broken china and crack pistachio. I inladed all the main pieces together and then used Crazy Stitched Frame dies to cut my decorative edges.

I finished it off by dropping Nuvo Crystal Drop in Caribbean Ocean.

Project # 4 : Summer Vibin Stamp

I set my scene with this adorable unicorn in the unicorn float :) from Summer Vibin.  Before I did any background, I cut the panel with Island dies as well as some craft card stock for later inlaid it in.  I ripped the printing paper for the unsmooth edge and began to did my background with distress oxide inks in broken china and cracked pistachio.  I then inlaid the island die cut piece back and used Crazy Stitched Frame dies for decorative edges.  I also did cut the coconut tree from Island dies with some scrap paper I have around.

I also cut the starfish from Island dies and dropped Nuvo Crystal Drop in Apple Green and Nuvo Jewel Drop in Key Lime.

Oh that's alot for today.  I hope you like them and Thank you for reading up until here.  :)  I'll be back tomorrow for my last card.

Hugs,
Jan
