You're My Love

Hi everyone...
I am glad to be back on Craftin Desert Divas' Blog today sharing my project with Water Coloring Technique with you.

Here is what I made.

Valentine is just around the corner.  I know some of us might not so crazy about Valentine's but I feel that it doesn't necessary to be Valentine's day to tell someone how much you love and care for him/her.  Don't you agree? :)

I made short YouTube vdo showing how I created my hearts background with Heart Of Heart dies with water coloring technique.

Here are some of the photos in close up.

The funky stitched border is from Crazy Stitched Frames dies which you know it's my go to decorative edge die now.  :)

The pink/purple hearts background was made from the Heart Galore stencils with some dye inks.  The sentiment is from Ladybug Garden stamp.  I partially stamped and heat embossed it with white embossing powder on a strip of black card stock.

I stamped and colored the adorable couple from Better Together stamp and colored them with copic markers then fussy cut them out.

Let's take a look at the whole card one more time.

I  hope you like it and I Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Jan

Christmas Wishes - Alcohol Ink Backgrounds

Hello there my Crafty Friends,

Merry Christmas to you all! I am super happy to be back on Craftin Desert Divas' blog today sharing with you this little project I made for our December Mood Board Challenge with this week CDD blog new theme -
Alcohol Ink Backgrounds technique.

Here is what I made for you.

Here is our December Mood Board Challenge.

You still have time to join us at CDD Facebook gallery to upload you projects to the folder.  And here is the link to CDD Facebook Gallery.  There will be prizes announcement at the 1st of January.
I hope you're playing along for some crafty fun and prizes.

Back to my project :)

I created this card using one of my alcohol ink backgrounds here to match the mood board colors theme together with Nested Heart dies, Fancy Frame dies, Tis The Season dies, Sending Sentiments stamp and Winter Bliss stamp.

Alcohol Ink Background technique has been around for long time and I have to admit that I was overwhelming with so many crafting techniques and keep on procrastinating to do this fun technique..
Well here is no more *lol*

And here is my YouTube Video sharing how I created these backgrounds with alcohol inks as well as copic various inks with rubbing alcohol on Yupo paper.

I hope you like it and I also have some pictures sharing here with my card project.

I used Fancy frame dies to cut from kraft card stock and trimmed my background panel to fit just slightly smaller than the stitching details from the die.  From vellum paper, I cut the Nested Heart dies and decorated the outer part with Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White and the inner heart I heated embossed with white embossing powder.  The Ice skating shoes and the wreath images are from Winter Bliss stamp.

Underneath the heart shape die is Santa's sleigh dies from Tis The Season dies.  I colored all the pieces with copic markers and popped them up with form tape.

And here is overall look at the card one more time.

I do hope you like it and Thank you for stopping by today.

Hugs,
Jan

Trolls Make Christmas Happen - Masking Techniques

Hello there my friends...
Im on Craftin Desert Divas blog today sharing with you my little projct focusing on "Masking Techniques"

Here is what I made for you

Masking can be intimidated for someone but it can also be therapeutic for others.  If you don't like fussy cutting chances that you may not like masking.  Im talking about masking as using masking paper or post-it tape for background ink blending or creating multiple layers of images as if ones are in front of another.

If you're doing water coloring masking can also be done by using Masking fluid to protect white area before doing your water coloring paint.

For my card today, I used masking paper to create my scene.  You've seen the pretty side after done with all the masking works.  Let's see the ugly side :)

Here are how I prepared my masking card scene.

After I stamped the troll Santa and the sentiment from Holiday Hugs stamp.  I cut my main panel using Crazy Stitched Frame dies and masked of all 4 sides with some washi tape.  I also fussy cut the image from post-it note as well as the masking both positive and negative pieces for the moon.

I used negative mask to cover the sky area in order to ink the moon with distress oxide inks in fossilized amber and wild honey.

I then used the positive masking for the moon to ink up the sky using distress oxide inks in salty ocean, faded jeans and a little bit of distress ink black sooth.

After the background was done, here is the fun part (always) when peeled off the mask and you'll see how it starts to look a little bit prettier :)

I then colored the image with various copic markers as well as used gray markers for the moon craters.  But I made a boo-boo after all the works were done. :(   I put Nuvo drops at the bottom right corner of the inked area but they weren't form round shapes as they used to be.  I have no idea what went wrong.  So I quickly removed them but there was an obvious spot as you can see.  I tried to cover it up with enamel dots but they're not big enough.. :(  so that gave me a chance to color another cutie troll from Holiday Hugs stamp and adhered at the corner there to cover up my boo boo.

Here is how it looks... not so bad right :)

I also added in doodlebug Ladybug Sprinkles Glitter Enamel and used wink of stella and stikles on Santa's hat.

I hope you like it and give this technique a try if you have yet done so...
I Thank you for stopping by today.

Hugs,
Jan

Sending Hugs & Happiness - Sentiment Background

Hello there friends.
I am up on Craftin Desert Divas blog today sharing my little project focusing on this week topic "Sentiment Background".

I also would like to invite you to join us for our November Mood Board Challenge over CDD Facebook Gallery.  Come and play along with us there are prizes to be won every month.

Here is my card for you today.

And here is our November Mood Board Photo Inspiration.

Isn't the photo gorgeous?  Have to admit that this is my first time using so many of sentiment images in one card :) And here is how I prepared my card.

I used Sending Sentiments stamp,  Wishful Thoughts stamp and Tiny Sentiments stamp.  I also have 2 card fronts cut from cream and kraft card stocks with Crazy Stitched Frame dies.  I also planed to used Fancy Stitched Label dies for spotlight my sentiment panel.

I used MISTI for helping me to alight the sentiments and make sure that all small sentiments were at the same place for both of my panel.  I heat embossed with gold embossing powder base on what I feel from the photo inspiration on cream card stock and the rest I used brown inks.  I need to used darker brown on kraft card stock because when I used lighter brown color they seemed to be too soft and too blended to card stock.

Since I wanted to spotlight my main sentiment "Sending Hugs & Happiness"  I selected the area that I wanted to spotlight and cut it with Fancy Stitched Label die.

I also colored the super adorable deer from Nice List stamp and I think the small sentiment "To My Deer Friend" is going well with the big sentiment.  So it reads "Sending Hugs & Happiness To My Deer Friend"  I colored him/her with copic markers and hand cut it out.

Here is closer look after I put all pieces together.

I filled in more small sentiments on kraft card stock and poped the spotlight sentiment panel with fun form.  I also heat embossed with gold embossing powder along the edge of spotlight panel to make it pop even more.  I attached the deer image with form tape also and finished it off by sprinkled Maple Leaves sequins here and there.

I hope you like it and Thank you for stopping by.  And don't forget to join us for the Mood Board Challenge.  Have a nice day guys.

Hugs,
Jan
