Love

Hello there my friends..

It's been quite a while since my last blog post... I apologies for the missing in action due to personal commitments and health issues... But Im back to share with you my project for Craftin Desert Divas February Mood Board Challenge and today is a brand new photo inspiration.

Here is the card I made

And here is CDD February Mood Board Challenge Photo Inspiration.

You have a month long to enter for prizes of $15 CDD Shop credit, 2 digital stamps and 1 digital stamp.  Link to CDD Gallery for more information click  Here

Here is how I prepared my card.

The moment I saw the photo inspiration I immediately think of distress inks in victorian velvet and cracked pistachio.

On watercolor paper I die cut the lantern die from Lantern Die set as well as stamped a couple of roses from Flowers In Bloom stamp.

I wanted the soft background of green color so I decided to do ink smooching technique with the soft pearlescent shine with perfect pearl powder.

I placed the watercolor card stock on top of the ink paddle then flipped it over and tried to give some wrinkles for the variation of colors on the panel and let it dried.

Here are how it looks after the background panel dried.  I also did the same with the lantern die cut with hickery smoke.  I added in aged mahogany distress ink on top of victorian velvet for the depth and dimension on the roses.

I decided to cut a few more Lantern dies from white card stock and stacked them up all together using Multi Medium Matte as my adhesive.  I think it will give a neater look rather than using form tape.  I arranged the roses an attached them on the lantern piece, one at the bottom layer, one on the lantern itself and another one on form tape.  I also die cut the background panel with Inside Scalloped Rectangle dies.

Here is how it looks after I put them all together.

I stamped and heat embossed the word "Love" from Happy Sentiments stamp on vellum and cut the it in fishtail banner and tuck another end behind the rose.

I popped the whole panel with form tape and I feel that something was missing so I added the bow from Shaker Tag dies.  And I think it completed the card.

I do hope you like it and play along with us for CDD Mood Board Challenge.

Hugs,
Jan
